The Centre for Biodiversity and Restoration Ecology (CBRE) is Victoria’s flagship applied research centre for trans-disciplinary research in environmental measurement, management, and rehabilitation that is located at its School of Biological Sciences.
Researchers and projects by CBRE draw from the diversity of applied ecology from reservation, through restoration to reconciliation ecology. Our Centre investigates the restoration of depleted populations, species and communities in ecosystems that have been impacted by human activity.
We provide excellence in scientific research, and deliver that research in a form that benefits the local community, conservation managers, and the commercial sector.
Through, and as an outcome of, our research we foster cooperation and exchange, both locally and internationally, to benefit the sustainability and ecological management of natural resources, particularly in the New Zealand region but also internationally where important synergies with the New Zealand experience exist.
